Tegalalang Rice Terrace

Some Information

Location : Ubud
Category : Nature

Sawah Tegalalang is a series of rice fields located on the north side of Ubud about 20 minutes drive, in the center of Bali, famous for its terraced layout. This is the traditional Balinese irrigation system known as "SUBAK". Positioned in a valley, the terraced rice fields of Tegalalang offer magnificent views over the rice fields and the surrounding green landscape. This is a very popular tourist hotspot in Bali and a must-see on many Bali itineraries. The charm offered in this rice field area is able to captivate the hearts of tourists.

The rice terraces are very beautifully designed with very beautiful curves of the rice fields and are located right on the edge of the hill. In this place, you will see Balinese farmers doing rice fields in sloping areas complete with irrigation systems. You will enjoy a beautiful valley panorama with rice terraces and coconut tree decorations. The local elders who own and cultivate the land often invite visitors to taste their green coconut drink, as well as buy the woven hats they make from coconut leaves. Some will even pose with you for photos (usually for a small fee).
